Abashiri City Museum of Art will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2022. It is an Okhotsk art museum rooted in the local climate and houses works by Abashiri-born painter Kaichi Ikushi, who was active in the Independent Art Association, as well as works by artists associated with Abashiri and those who used Okhotsk as their subject matter.
